Canadian confectionery Chocolate Tales has created a 12-piece Easter truffle box ($24.25 plus tax) from which 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the UNHCR, the United Nation Refugee Agency, to help those fleeing the Ukraine. The Unison t-shirt that The Tragically Hip wore when they accepted their humanitarian award at the 2021 Junos on June 6 is now for sale on their web site. The Canadian rock band, which lost their frontman to cancer in 2017, but just released an EP of unreleased Road Apples material called Saskadelphia, already donated $50,000 to Unison from the sale of its "Courage" masks.  All proceeds from the $35 limited-edition cotton tees will go to the charity, set up for members of the Canadian music industry who might need counselling and emergency relief services. The Who has teamed up with Heinz to produce a limited edition can of baked beans with 100% of net proceeds going to Teen Cancer America, founded by the band's Roger Daltry and guitarist Pete Townshend. The label features the famed slogan Beanz Meanz with the rock band's bullseye logo underneath. The brand came up with Beanz Meanz in 1967 the same year Daltry sat in a tub of baked beans for the cover of the album,  The Who Sell Out, which included minute-long jingle "Heinz Baked Beans." Music website building company Bandzoogle is selling tons of custom merch by Canadian illustrator Jacqueline Oakley to raise funds for Unison’s Benevolent Fund's Emergency Mental Health For The Music Community and has pledged to match funds up to $5000, until March 31. Oakley’s work has appeared in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Guardian and for Reebok. The Bernie Chairman crewneck sweatshirts sold out quickly on the Bernie campaign store website, but now they've added t-shirts.  The $27 (USD) black tees feature the now iconic photo of Senator Bernie Sanders, all bundled up in his chair with a mask and mittens from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's inauguration (Jan. 20) that has been gone viral in hundreds, possibly thousands, of memes. Started in 2017 via a Kickstarter campaign, these durable environmentally-friendly sustainably harvested cork yoga mats are just one of the give-back products available from this Ontario yoga company, Scoria World. Each mat purchased provides 10 meals through their partnership with Feeding Children Everywhere. In three years, that has equalled more than 100,000 meals. Norman Powell of the world champion Toronto Raptors basketball team has released a Black Lives Matters-themed set of t-shirts as part of his Understand The Grind clothing line. The series features three separate designs, one featuring a quote from late poet and social critic James Baldwin, one that says "Understand Black Lives Matter" and one that asks "Am I Next?" The Toronto Blue Jays are playing this strange truncated 2020 season outside Canada due to covid-19, but the franchise is offering a commemorative ticket for the Home Away From Home Opener (presented by TD), Tuesday Aug. 11 against the Miami Marlins.  Hard tickets are $10 with a portion of the proceeds going to Jays Care Foundation to help Canadian families who are struggling during the pandemic.
